If you signed up for a marathon in the fall, such as the Chicago or New York Marathon, now is about the perfect time to start training, if you haven’t already. Trust me – you don’t want to make the mistake of waiting until two months before the New York Marathon to actually start training, which is exactly what I did last year. I started out the first 10 miles feeling great (probably an adrenaline rush), and the remaining 16 miles grew increasingly harder and harder until I eventually had to walk. Never again will I skip training.
